CARMELO ANTHONYS TRAINING PROGRAM


Carmelo Anthonys training program has helped him to develop into one of the most successful basketball players in the world.

In 2003, as a freshman at Syracuse University, Anthony led his team to the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship, and then went on to be drafted #3 by the Denver Nuggets. The versatile 6’ 8” forward has been nothing less than spectacular in his professional career, and has proven to be one of the most consistent offensive forces in the game.

The following regimen is Carmelo Anthonys training program for the summer, during the NBA off-season. He trains three straight hours a day, six days a week.

MONDAY, WEDNESDAY, FRIDAY
9:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. - Carmelo starts with low-intensity cardio routines that include twenty minutes each of running in the sand, a normal jog, and then elliptical machine work.
10:30 a.m -12:00 p.m. – Basketball training
12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Carmelo performs a weight room circuit routine of eight different machines. He performs no less than 20 repetitions on each machine, and starts with core muscles before moving outwards toward peripheral muscles.
12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Stretching and cool down.

TUESDAY, THURSDAY, SATURDAY
9:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. - Carmelo starts light warm-up and stretching, before performing sprint work at the stadium stairs of Red Rock, in Denver, Colorado.
10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. – Basketball training
11:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Explosive jump training exercises in his swimming pool.
12:00 p.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Carmelo performs a weight room routine of eight different stations. He does all one-handed dumbbell workouts, of no less than 20 repetitions.
12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. – Stretching and cool down.

SUNDAY
