ADVANCED BASKETBALL TRAINING SECRETS


The Paul Gasol power workout has helped him to become one of the most valuable and versatile big men in the National Basketball Association. The native of Spain is a current member of the Los Angeles Lakers and the owner of two championship rings. Drafted in 2001 by the Memphis Grizzlies, Gasol won the Rookie of the Year award in the same year and has been a mainstay as an all-star power forward. Pau has also been an important player on the international scene as he led Spain to a Gold Medal-winning performance in the 2006 World Championships in Japan and a Silver Medal-winning showing in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.

Pau Gasol's power workout in a circuit training program, in which he performs a complete circuit three times per workout. He goes through each circuit without a break, then takes a two-minute rest between circuits. Here are two different circuits that he uses on alternating days. These circuits can be mixed up to incorporate the different exercises in each program to create fresh new routines for a given day.

Balance board holds
Cable row
Swiss ball box outs
Smith machine incline press
Power plate static holds with rotation
Hex bar high pulls
Banded lunges for glutes
Bosu narrow push-ups for triceps
Swiss ball shoulder circling
Dumbbell curls
Standing alternate arm dumbbell military press
